Born near Sheffield, Joey joined the Band in 2009 and is a welcome member to the Bands cornet section. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, again under Roger Webster and wants to become a Music Teacher, passing on his expertise to the musicians of tomorrow.

He was awarded the Grimethorpe Colliery Band Player of the year for 2010 for his dedication, playing ability and excellent attendance record during that year.

His ambitions are to win all the major Banding Titles with Grimethorpe and went some way to achieving this when the Band won the 2010 Brass in Concert Entertainment Championships last year.
