DEAN JONES - SECOND TROMBONE

Dean is currently a student at Huddersfield University studying Music. He is in the final year and is hoping to further his studies in the coming years at the RNCM doing a Masters in Trombone Performance.

Dean is originally from Swindon, Wiltshire where he played for Aldbourne brass band from the age of 14 when he started playing the Trombone. This wasn't his first brass instrument as he had been playing the cornet since the age of three. This is mainly due to his vastly musical family including a mother and father who both played in brass bands. Subsequently Dean joined Aldbourne along with his father, who joined on Eb Bass.

Since moving to Huddersfield to study, Dean has been a member of Rothwell Temperance Band and Leyland Band both on second trombone playing at contests such as Brass in Concert, The National Finals and The Open.

Dean joined Grimethorpe in March 2009 and has since competed with the band at the European Championships in Ostend.

As well as being a musician Dean is also an keen golfer with a handicap of 8 and has been a life long Manchester United fan due to his father supporting them since he was young.
